Things We Do
Thank you for your support to Kennedy PTSA this year. It is our members that allow us to serve the needs of the Kennedy community.
Below is a recap of just some of the ways that PTSA helped to support Kennedy last year:
- Funded new speaker system for the gym
- Procured emergency generator, tools & emergency supplies
- Funded new recovery cot for the Nurse's office
- Funded magazine subscriptions, books and printer supplies for library
- Funding for field trip bus for special needs class
- Funding for special workshop for music classes
- Helped pay for AP testing and other necessities for disadvantaged students
- Awarding 4 senior student scholarships
- Hosted 2 Teacher/Staff Appreciation dinners & gifts
- Provided refreshments for dances, maze day and senior awards night
- Volunteer help at beautification/clean-up days
ABC TV's Dream Home Comes To JFKHS Lisa Quinn with the JFK PTSA Board of Directors (L-R: Rhonda Sorenson, Linda Dewlaney, Lisa Quinn, Carolyn Vargas and Barnara Bousquet) A million thanks to Lisa Quinn and the ABC TV Dream Home Team! With Lisa's help, JFK PTSA gave the staff at Kennedy High a special gift on Friday, August 22, 2008. A renovated teachers lounge and workroom was presented to the school and staff by San Francisco's ABC TV affiliate Channel 7. The "Dream Home" a station feature was enabled by Carolyn Vargas, PTSA president after a three-year wait since she submitted an application. This was the perfect way to start the school year! The surprise presentation was provided by TV host Lisa Quinn and was broadcasted on Sunday, August 31, 2008 at 4:00 p.m. on ABC 7. Furniture for the remodel were provided by IKEA.
